Now a little about each book…

A Neapolitan Fairy Tale at Lake Okoboji

A budding love story set in a simple ice cream parlor – owned by fairies. Twenty-seven-year-old workaholic Georgiana Bennet lost her sense of taste in an accident. When she arrives at Lake Okoboji, Iowa, looking for a cure she meets Michal, the handsome co-owner of the Lucky Star Ice Cream Bar, and his three eccentric partners. The three women weave their way into Georgiana's world as she finds herself spending long days in the sun with Michal and warm evenings under the stars. But the day she sees fairy wings on her new female friends changes her forever.

The fairies manipulate Georgiana's life, including her love life, until she makes a decision that complicates everything.

Strawberry Sundae Delights…

Schoolteacher Sienna Schultz is still stinging from a bad breakup with her fiancé when she finds herself unexpectedly infatuated with a new man. While working her summer job at her aunt's ice cream shop in the small tourist town of Sandhill Island, she meets Jake White, a college student from Corpus Christi who is working on a shrimper for the summer. Sienna is not ready for another relationship, but Jake is difficult to resist.

Sienna's peaceful summer is shattered when a series of suspicious events unfold. Her aunt's suppliers refuse to sell to her, putting the future of the shop in jeopardy. Then, when the store is vandalized, they wonder if someone is out to harm not only the business, but Sienna and her aunt as well.

Jake offers to help uncover who's behind the incidents, which brings the two of them closer together. Can Sienna trust him…or is she headed for another heartbreak?

Interesting fact about A Neapolitan Fairy Tale at Lake Okoboji:

The University of Okoboji is actually a fictional university, created in the 1970’s by three brothers (The Three Sons) who printed t-shirts with the “official” school crest. It is the home of the “undefeated” Fighting Phantoms. The name is now used in connection with several annual fund-raising events for charity.

More about Paula:

This is my first fantasy romance, but the inspiration came from a real place and a real nutty bar—and it may also have been the company that we were with that made the whole experience so “magical.” I’ve also written an award-winning contemporary YA that is coming soon. Find her online:

A recipe related to the story in Strawberry Sundae Delights:

Aunt Betty’s Frozen Strawberry Jam

 2 C. crushed fresh strawberries

 4 C. sugar

 1 pkg. dry pectin

¾ C. water

Mix strawberries with sugar after crushing and let stand for 10 to 15 minutes. Combine pectin with water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Boil and stir for one minute. Stir boiling water and pectin into fruit and sugar and let set for approximately 3 minutes. Spoon into clean, warm jars and place lids on top. Place them in freezer after they cool. Thaw before using and keep the jam in the refrigerator after opening. Thawed jam can last in the fridge for up to 1 month.
